SDC Green Kerala Mission Announced
One of the key highlights of the event was the official announcement of the SDC Green Kerala Mission.
The initiative aims to promote environmental protection through large-scale tree planting, tree adoption, conservation, and community participation. Rather than focusing only on planting trees, the mission emphasizes the importance of protecting and maintaining the trees for the long term.
Through the Green Kerala Mission, SDC aims to encourage individuals, institutions, businesses, and local communities to take an active role in protecting the environment and creating a healthier and greener Kerala for future generations.
Cafe Stop Becomes the First Supporter of the Green Kerala Mission
A significant milestone was achieved during the programme when Cafe Stop came forward to sponsor and take responsibility for the protection and maintenance of the first tree under the SDC Green Kerala Mission.
This initiative represents an important principle behind the mission: planting a tree is only the beginning. Ensuring that the tree survives, grows, and receives proper care is equally important.
By supporting the initiative, Cafe Stop has become the first establishment to extend its support to the SDC Green Kerala Mission and contribute directly to its environmental objectives.
The partnership also demonstrates how businesses can play a meaningful role in community-based environmental initiatives.
Fun, Games and Family Participation
The celebration was not limited to formal sessions and speeches. Various games and fun activities were organized for the SDC family, creating an energetic and friendly atmosphere throughout the event.
Members actively participated in the activities, making the celebration an opportunity for interaction, friendship, and team bonding.
As part of the celebration, special encouragement prizes sponsored by Cafe Stop were presented to the participants. The initiative added an extra element of excitement to the programme while also highlighting the support extended by Cafe Stop towards the SDC community and its Green Kerala Mission.
Celebrating Onam with a Purpose
The SDC Onam Celebration 2026 went beyond being a traditional festive gathering. It brought together celebration, community, partnership, and environmental responsibility under one platform.
The launch of the Green Kerala Mission during the Onam programme reflects SDC’s broader vision of connecting social activities with meaningful community development.
Through the mission, SDC seeks to create greater awareness about environmental protection, encourage tree planting and conservation, and build stronger participation from local communities.
With the vision of “Together Towards a Sustainable Future,” SDC aims to continue expanding its environmental initiatives across Kerala.
The Onam celebration therefore marked not only a day of happiness and togetherness for the SDC family, but also the beginning of a new journey towards a greener and more sustainable Kerala.
