TESTIMONIALS
What our volunteers, community leaders, and development partners say about their journey with the Sustainable Development Council.

Before SDC I wanted to help my village but didn’t know how to start, and SDC gave me the platform to take action through awareness, tree planting, and supporting families. I love that SDC never says “you’re too young” - they say “you’re needed now”, and that changed how I see my role in development.Sharafiyas C M

I joined SDC as just a student but it completely changed how I see myself and the world around me. It taught me that real development means growing with nature, not destroying it, and every activity made me feel responsible for something bigger than my grades.Hamda Hanan

I came to SDC thinking I’d just do weekend social work, but I found a real purpose here. The hands-on work taught me that protecting the environment is not a duty but a way of life, and the mentors guide us like elder siblings, not bosses.Irfansha PN

Before SDC I had ideas to help people but no idea how to start, and this council gave me the first step and the confidence to keep going. Every project, from food kit distribution to tree-planting, made me proud and taught me that sustainable development is about people and planet thriving together.Dilshan

I thought SDC would just look good on my resume, but it ended up adding real meaning to my life. Working with a team that chooses action over words taught me that sustainability is not just a topic, it’s a daily choice, and that development should leave no one behind.Sana Fathima

I joined SDC thinking youth power is just for social media, but here I saw what it can do on the ground. From cleaning beaches to organizing tree drives, every project made me feel strong and responsible.Fazil Firoz

SDC made me realize that leadership is not about position, it’s about participation. As a youth volunteer, I got chances to lead drives, speak in schools, and work directly with the community. The council believes in learning by doing, and that’s how I grew the most.Hisham

I came to SDC as someone who cared about the environment, and I’m leaving as someone who acts for it. Every activity here - from waste segregation to community farming - taught me practical ways to live sustainably. The best part is the brotherhood we built while working for a common cause.Ashique OC

I joined SDC at a stage in life when I thought I had seen and done enough, but this council proved me wrong. Volunteering here taught me that age is not a limit to learning - it’s an advantage to guide and serve better. Working with students and youth showed me how much hope and energy the next generation carries for our landHabeeb

I joined SDC as a nurse, but I stayed because of the impact we created beyond hospital walls. Health is not just about treating patients - SDC taught me it starts with clean water, clean air, and aware communities. Volunteering here in health camps and awareness drives reminded me why I chose this profession in the first place.Sajna Razak

I joined SDC thinking my work was limited to four walls, but this council showed me how much a home can impact the outside world. Volunteering taught me that sustainability starts from our kitchen, our waste, and our daily choices. Through SDC’s awareness drives and community programs, I learned to turn small home habits into big environmental actions.Rasheeda Saleem

I have run my small thattukada for many years, but joining SDC taught me that my work is connected to a bigger purpose. This council showed me how every shop, every customer, and every small habit can protect our environment. I started using less plastic, managing waste better, and telling my customers why it matters.Ayshabi

I’m part of the team that brings mobile towers to life on the ground. From erecting the structure to installing antennas and equipment, my job is to make sure everything is safe, strong, and ready for proper signal coverage. Every site is different, but the goal is always the same - connecting people with reliable network.Abdul Razak
